Nomination for Thames Ditton station supervisor

Ron has been part of the South West Trains' team for over six years and started his career at Raynes Park before moving to Worcester Park, Motspur Park and then a short spell at Wimbledon. But much to the delight of his passengers Ron finally found his home at Thames Ditton station.

Andrew Fairbank, our Head of Stations, said: “I am extremely proud that Ron has been recognised for the fantastic customer service he delivers day in, day out. Nothing is too much trouble for him when it comes to looking after his customers.”

Regular passengers travelling from Thames Ditton see the station as a home from home. The booking hall area has become a local community centre where customers can sit, read a magazine, have a chat and maybe have a go on one of the jigsaws which Ron provides in the waiting room.

Passengers always remark on Ron's fantastic customer service one of the comments made about Ron said: “Ron always goes out of his way to be helpful and courteous.” Another passenger said: “Ron always offers accurate advice and information.”

Managing Director Stewart Palmer said: “Ron Cox is clearly loved by passengers travelling from Thames Ditton and really does deliver a first-class service everyday. Congratulations must go to Ron for getting this far and we will be keeping our fingers crossed that he is scoops this award.”

Ron Cox and Matthew Winnie, our Area Managers, will be at the Grosvenor Park Lane Hotel in London on Tuesday 17 July to hear the winner of this prestigious award announced.

More capacity for bicycles at Guildford station

The investment in improved facilities at Guildford station has continued with the installation of more cycle storage.

Off-peak fare changes from 20 May 2007

From 20 May, South West Trains are introducing a new ticket type for travel towards London - Super Off-peak Day Return.
